While there are many ways to attempt to address this challenge, one of the most effective approaches is to truly establish a comprehensive and holistic baseline understanding of eDiscovery from both a legal and technical point of view.
Establishing a holistic baseline of eDiscovery knowledge is incredibly difficult for today’s fast moving eDiscovery professional given the challenges of study time (having it), eDiscovery training (finding it) and curriculum trust (validating it). With the need for holistic training in mind and with a deep understanding of time, training, and trust challenges, eDiscovery expert Ralph Losey has created the E-Discovery Team Legal Training Program to help individuals efficiently and comprehensively increase their understanding of the discipline of eDiscovery.
The E-Discovery Team Legal Training Program provides online participants with access to in-depth legal education that can be studied at their own time, their own place, and at their own pace. Consisting of 84 law school proven classes developed by eDiscovery practitioner and professor Ralph Losey, the combination of free (first six modules) and paid courses are a cost effective, time efficient way to build on your eDiscovery understanding and increase your impact in eDiscovery.
Provided below is a short overview of the program as taken from the E-Discovery Team Training website.
Our curriculum includes ideas and solutions from experts around the world to the many challenges of electronic discovery. We also study the problems, common mistakes, and what to avoid. The legal opinions that judges write every day make that easy to teach. But the practice suggestions are the real strength of our program. As the German writer Johann W. von Goethe said: It is easier to perceive error than to find truth, for the former lies on the surface and is easily seen, while the latter lies in the depth, where few are willing to search for it.
The curriculum is divided into five sections with a total of eighty-four classes or modules:
- Section One: Introduction to Electronic Discovery. 19 Classes.
- Section Two: Diving Deeper Into the Interdisciplinary Team Approach and the Art of Search. 16 Classes.
- Section Three: Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and Evidence. 20 Classes.
- Section Four: Technology, Privacy and Ethics. 17 Classes.
- Section Five: Spoliation and Sanctions. 12 Classes.
All the classes are listed by Sections on the pull down menus on top of the page. You can also see the Syllabus page on top for a complete listing. Not only that, you can peek into each of these classrooms and read the first paragraph of the module to find out more about our course. The first five classes are free and after that we have a variety of easy Tuition payment plans. We recommend that you study the sections and modules in chronological order, as that is how the course is designed. But we also make it possible to skip around and just study when and what you want. Online e-Discovery Team training is designed to empower students to study at your own time, your own place, your own pace.
