More bad news for law firms: For the fifth consecutive year, legal consultancy Altman Weil has found in an annual survey of chief legal officers that most law departments are planning on reducing their outside legal spend in the coming year.
Of the 1,363 law departments invited to participate in its survey of chief legal officers between September and October, 258 responded, including those from small and large companies, with law departments ranging from one attorney to 950 attorneys.
Most of the respondents, 69 percent, hailed from public companies.
