Published annually by Gartner, the world’s leading information technology and research advisory company, the Magic Quadrant for E-Discovery Software is a concise research report that highlights key market developments and dynamics in the field of eDiscovery and provides an comparative evaluation of leading eDiscovery software vendors.
Initiating coverage of the eDiscovery discipline in the 2005 time frame, Gartner published its first Magic Quadrant for E-Discovery Software report in May of 2011 and has published the report each subsequent year. Available in their entirety by purchase from Gartner, specifics of the first three of these reports are provided below:
Magic Quadrant for E-Discovery Software – June 10, 2013 (Debra Logan, Alan Dayley, Sheila Childs)
The e-discovery landscape continues to change, with end-to-end functionality, shifts in buying patterns, technology-assisted reviews and acquisitions dominating the market. Gartner evaluates 23 vendors of e-discovery software to help buyers pick the right one for their needs.
Magic Quadrant for E-Discovery Software – May 24, 2012 (Debra Logan, Sheila Childs)
The e-discovery market landscape has shifted dramatically as end users have begun to demand more complete e-discovery functionality. Many vendors are responding with broader end-to-end functionality. New products, acquisitions and shifts in buying patterns have led to a radically altered picture.
Magic Quadrant for E-Discovery Software – May 13, 2011 (Debra Logan, John Bace)
The market for electronic discovery software is volatile and overcrowded, with new vendors entering as others merge. Nevertheless, Gartner considers the market mature enough to warrant the first Magic Quadrant analyzing 24 of its vendors.
While the complete reports are available by purchase from Gartner, selected extracts of these reports are regularly provided to the general public by both covered vendors and by legal and information technology media professionals in the form of news coverage and commentary. Provided below is an aggregation from public domain sources* of eDiscovery vendors who have been selected and evaluated as part of the annual Magic Quadrant for E-Discovery Software since 2011.
